The primary consideration for Webtel.mobi in respect of The Challenge is that of safety for all parties involved.

Other than rigorous planning and safety precautions being taken, a Challenge rehearsal will be carried out on the day before The Challenge.

The Challenge rehearsal will include the practice of formation flying and pursuit flight by all helicopters and aircraft, as well as a testing of all equipment, communications and filming equipment.

Finally, a Search and Rescue rehearsal will be conducted. The Challenger will be lowered into the Atlantic Ocean, and then be extracted by two retired Special Forces Operators who will jump into the ocean from the Search and Rescue helicopter, swim across to The Challenger, secure him, and assist to winch him up into the Search and Rescue Helicopter.

Both retired Operators are competent paramedics to a very advanced level, and an experienced Search and Rescue Doctor, with specialized medical equipment, is inside the Search and Rescue helicopter.

The aim of the Challenge Rehearsal is to ensure that all aircraft, helicopters, filming and streaming equipment, as well as all safety equipment and safety procedures, are fully functional and work well.
